You are the culprit, the offender, the guilty party. You're bad. Your home's thermostat is set too high. Your gas guzzling SUV emits life-killing CO2. You are the evildoer–the sinner. The death of the planet is on your shoulders. It's your fault. Shame on you!

The more realistic observer, on the other hand, recognizes that, despite the panicked outcry of Chicken Little, the sky is not falling. Temperatures and carbon dioxide levels are not in dangerous territory. Calm down. Relax.
The best news is that reasonable thinkers do not suggest that YOU are the cause of the problem. They point to the sun, earth's giant, nuclear reactor, as the culprit. No need for you to feel guilty! You're not killing the planet. You're off the hook. And, don't let them tax you for CO2. It's free.
